CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Mercer freshman
William Meason fired a three-under, 69 in the second round to highlight Mercer’s first day at the Aldila Scenic City Invitational. As a team, Mercer men’s golf is 16th after carding a first-round 308 and a second-round 299.
Meason’s second-round 69 was an 11-stroke improvement on the freshman’s first-round 80. Meason sits tied for 48th place individually.

Alex Street was consistent on the first day of the event, turning in a round-one 77 and improving that score by three strokes in the second-round. Street is tied for 60th place after day one.

Matt Kocolowski and
Matt Smith both used 154 strokes to complete the 36-hole first day of the event. Senior
Matt Tribby recorded an 80 and a 78 and is tied for 80th place.
As a team, the Bears (+31) are just five strokes behind Francis Marion for 15th place. Chattanooga and Wichita State are tied for the lead of the event (-12).
The Aldila Invitational wraps up tomorrow, Oct. 27. The third and final round is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
