Mercer Hosts Annual Baseball Scout Day

MACON, Ga. – Mercer hosted its annual Fall Scout Day at OrthoGeorgia Park on Sunday in front of a group of nearly 20 scouts from various major league organizations around the nation.

All position players ran the 60-yard dash before the Bears played an intersquad game that featured eight 2019 MLB Draft-eligible pitchers. Mercer has produced 22 #ProBears during head coach Craig Gibson's 15-year tenure, including eight since the Bears joined the Southern Conference in 2015.

"It's no secret that our program has been able to produce professional talent throughout the last handful of years," Gibson said. "We're proud to be a part of a program that produces outstanding young men, some of which earn the opportunity to pursue their dreams of playing professional baseball."

The Bears will continue their fall practice slate in the upcoming week before shifting focus to their 2018 Fall World Series, which is scheduled for Oct. 22, 24, 26, 27 and 28. All Fall World Series games will be played at OrthoGeorgia Park.
