Carol Pyon Named SoCon Golfer Of The Week

Pyon won the Brickyard Collegiate on Tuesday
MACON, Ga. -Â Carol Pyon was named Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of April 5-11 as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Pyon won the Brickyard Collegiate held at Brickyard Golf Club April 10-11. In three rounds of golf, Pyon finished with a score of 220 (+4) to win the tournament by one stroke over teammate Tracy Rodriguez.
Pyon shot 73-75-72 over her three rounds and entered the final round two shots back of the lead before posting a 72 (E) on Tuesday to win the tournament.
It was Pyon's first tournament win of the season and second career win at the Brickyard Collegiate as she also won the tournament as a freshman at Mercer. Pyon led the field on par 4's where she was 1-over for the tournament. She had the fourth most birdies throughout the tournament with eight.Â
Next up for Pyon and the Bears is the SoCon Championship in Hilton Head, South Carolina from April 16-18.
