Tobias Jonsson Begins Play at The U.S. Amateur Championship

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's golfer Tobias Jonsson begins play at The 123rd U.S. Amateur Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, Colorado.
More than 7500 golfers attempted to qualify themselves for the Championship. However only 312 amateur golfers can qualify for the Championship. This year's U.S Amateur Championship is taking place at Cherry Hills. This marks the tenth USGA Championship for this historic venue since its opening.
Stroke play will take place Monday, August 14 and Tuesday August 15. On Wednesday match play will begin with the round of 64, which is followed by the round of 32 and 16 on Thursday, August 17. The quarterfinals will begin on Friday, August 18. The semifinals will be played Saturday, August 19. On Sunday, August 20, begin the 36-hole championship match.
