MACON, Ga. – Former Mercer standout and current Louisville City FC goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh has been selected to the Trinidad & Tobago national team for the upcoming CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers.
Ranjitsingh, a 2015 Mercer graduate, holds the Bears' all-time records for clean sheets (27) and goals against average (.926), while also ranking third in saves (363). In his senior season, Ranjitsingh led the SoCon in total saves (106) and save percentage (.841), while finishing the season ranked third and ninth in the nation in the categories, respectively.
Ranjitsingh signed with Louisville in 2015 as a rookie. He took over the starting role for the USL club in May, opening with a string of five clean sheets, and has remained in goal ever since. In his second season with the club, Ranjitsingh has posted a 0.90 goals against average and .707 save percentage this season, helping Louisville clinch a playoff spot this season.
Trinidad & Tobago will host Guatemala at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain on Friday, Sept. 2 before closing out the stage by facing the United States at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8:15 p.m.
Trinidad & Tobago currently leads Group C with 10 points, with the United States sitting with seven and Guatemala with six. A win or draw against Guatemala would ensure the side advances to the final stage of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.
