Bears Move Up One Spot at Anuenue Spring Break Classic

KAPALUA, Hawai'i – Five of the seven Mercer golfers improved their score and the Bears moved up one spot to a tie for 10^th as the second round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic came to a close Tuesday.

Lauren Lightfritz got out to another hot start and remained in the top 20 while Terese Romeo moved up nearly 20 spots as she improved her scorecard by five strokes.

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
The Bears moved up one spot to a tie for 10^th with Gonzaga after finishing the first two rounds at 39-over-par. That puts Mercer two strokes behind Santa Clara (+37) and three strokes behind host Hawai'i (+36). No. 7 UCLA leads the team field at 2-under-par while No. 4 Arizona State follows in second at 7-over-par.

MERCER ON THE INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Lauren Lightfritz continues to lead the Bears and was hot at the start, opening the round with two straight birdies. She finished the day at 3-over-par and enters Wednesday's final round tied for 16^th. Terese Romeo made the biggest jump on the leaderboard as she moved up 19 spots to a tie for 41^st improving her score by five strokes between the first two rounds. No. 15 Lilia Vu (UCLA) leads the individual competition at 11-under-par while No. 35 My Leander (San Jose State), No. 8 Linnea Strom (Arizona State) and No. 40 Olivia Mehaffey (Arizona State) are all tied for second at 2-under-par.

WEDNESDAY'S PAIRINGS
The Bears will tee off the final round at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on holes 8 throguh 11 with the shotgun start beginning at 7:45 a.m. HT/1:45 p.m. ET. Mercer will be paired with Santa Clara, Gonzaga and Osaka Gakuin University (Japan) in the final round.
