Women’s Soccer Inks Seven On National Signing Day
2/7/2018 7:15:00 PM | Women's Soccer
MACON, Ga. – Head coach Tony Economopoulos announced the signing of seven players to national letters of intent on Wednesday. The Bears will welcome Kylie Buchanan, Sophie Hecht, Itzayanna Sanchez Garcia, Kyra Idris, Pace Stephenson, Karson Rosenberger and Payton Schurr for the 2018 season. In addition to the new signees, the Bears have also added Kentucky transfer, Abigail Zoeller.
"We are very excited about this 2018 recruiting class," said Economopoulos. "We hit a lot of needs that we were looking for. We definitely got deeper, it will be my deepest team I have had going into my seventh year here. So our competitiveness and playing time will be at a premium. We were able to get more athletic and add more speed which is something we were searching for. The most important piece that I feel we acquired was girls who are good in front of goal. Ones that can put it in the back of the net. Credit to Mike Melton (assistant coach) for his work along the way and helping us obtain this solid class."
