Jodee Tindal leading the way for Mercer individually
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Mercer women's golf team is tied for seventh place after 18 holes of play Friday at the 3M Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.

Mercer shot 10-over-par (298) and are well within striking distance of the top five teams in the 15-team field. The Bears will resume play Saturday as they tee off with Daytona State College and Middle Tennessee State for round two.

Just five shots separate Mercer (+10) and nationally-ranked No. 47 Virginia Tech (+5) in second place. The Bears are tied with Daytona State College at 10-over-par as the pair own an eight-shot lead ahead of ninth-place Middle Tennessee State. Georgia owns a dominate lead after round one; the Bulldogs (-7) are 12 shots ahead of Virginia Tech for the lead.

Four Bears rank inside the top-21 players individually, led by freshman Jodee Tindal, who shot a one-over-par 73 on Friday. Tindal had an eventful first 18 holes with four birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey. Her birdies came on No. 6, 8, 10 and 12.
