Yeager Named Perfect Game/Rawlings Freshman All-American

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Mercer shortstop RJ Yeager was named a Second Team College Freshman All-American by Perfect Game/Rawlings, the organizations announced Thursday.

This marks the third time Yeager has earned the status of freshman All-American since the conclusion of the 2018 season; he earned the same honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on June 11 and Collegiate Baseball on June 6.

Yeager is the only freshman from the Southern Conference and any of the Division I Georgia schools to be named to Perfect Game/Rawlings' first or second teams. To view the teams, click here.

A native of Lynn Haven, Fla., Yeager was named the SoCon Freshman of the Year by league coaches after starting all 60 games at shortstop for the Bears.
