Schroeder Adds Three Transfers to 2018 Volleyball Roster

Alexis Morey, Roberta O’hagan-Todd and Megan Smith join the Bears
MACON, Ga. – Mercer volleyball head coach Derek Schroeder announced the addition of three transfers to the Bears' 2018 roster on Thursday afternoon.
Â
Alexia Morey (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Roberta Todd (Stoney Creek, Ontario) and Megan Smith (Oakville, Ontario) will join the Bears this fall. Morey transferred from the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC); Todd transferred from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay; and Smith transferred from Brock University (Ontario).
Â
The trio joins Mercer's five freshmen signees from April: Ellie Miller, Molly Hackett, Annie Karle, Olivia Boeve and Brittany Major. Mercer graduated five players from its 2017 roster and will look for a revamped roster that includes eight new faces to lead the way.
Â
"Overall, this is an infusion of a great group of newcomers that have the physicality to compete at this program," Schroeder said. "All three transfers – Alexis, Roberta and Megan – will add much to the speed and tenacity by which we play volleyball."

Â
ALEXIA MOREY– Colorado Springs Colo.
POS:Â Middle Blocker
HT:Â 6'3"
PREV. SCHOOL:Â Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)
Â
Coach Schroeder on Morey:
"Lexi has been great since arriving on campus this spring. She visited on a Friday and Saturday, flew home to Colorado and drove back to enroll in classes the next Monday. She has not let off of that dedication to our program since."
Â
"Lexi adds much needed size to our net presence and will be a big part of making our defensive considerably harder on our opponents' offenses this fall."
ROBERTA O'HAGAN-TODD – Stoney Creek, Ontario
POS:Â Outside Hitter
HT:Â 5'11"
PREV. SCHOOL:Â Wisconsin-Green Bay
Â
Coach Schroeder on O'hagan-Todd:
"Roberta is a kid I recruited and helped through the recruiting process in my time away [from collegiate coaching]. I was ecstatic to hear she was looking for a new challenge after her freshman season at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Roberta will be a terminator on the pins that we have lacked so far since I've arrived at Mercer…we'll look for her to take big swings for us this fall."
Â
MEGAN SMITH – Oakville, Ontario
POS:Â Libero/Defensive Specialist
HT:Â 5'6"
PREV. SCHOOL:Â Brock University
Â
Coach Schroeder on Smith:
"I have known Megan a long time and flatly I think many people missed out on her as a player. She will come in and ball every day and she will add a ton to our gym culture and our on court presence."
