Andrew Ureña was a member of the Mercer baseball program from 2005-06 and is a member of the Mercer Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
Despite playing just two seasons for Mercer’s baseball program, Ureña made an immediate impact with the Bears as a junior and senior. The right-handed pitcher left the program as its all-time leader in earned run average (1.30) and saves (20). As a senior, Ureña posted Mercer single-season records in ERA (1.30) and saves (15) while earning All-American honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). He was later selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft.
