
Volleyball Sweeps Savannah State

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Mercer sophomore Cassie Roy led all players with nine kills and 11 digs as the Bears swept Savannah State 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-10) in Thursday night's volleyball match at Willcox Wiley Gym.
Mercer captured its second win in its last three matches and moved to 7-15 while Savannah State remained winless at 0-17.
Roy's nine kills and 11 digs were both career-highs. The Palm Harbor, Fla. native collected her nine kills on 16 swings and had zero errors on Thursday evening.
Mercer junior Madeline Dolny had a match-high 19 assists while also collecting three service aces, six digs and a kill.
Sophomore Zoe Becton knocked down four kills on six attempts and also contributed a pair of service aces.
Junior Codi Schepp crushed four kills and notched seven digs, one block solo and one block assist.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first set, Mercer scored three-straight points and never trailed for the remainder of the match.
Mercer returns to action hosting Chattanooga on October 18. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
