TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sophomore James Beale carded a 2-under 69 to help the men's golf team finish the second round of the Seminole Intercollegiate in fourth place overall. As a team, the Bears posted a score of 289 on Saturday at the Southwood Golf Course and are just one stroke shy of Kennesaw State for third place on the team leaderboard.
Georgia Tech leads all teams with a two-day total of 552 while host Florida State is five strokes behind the Yellow Jackets. Kennesaw State has a team score of 569 and is third overall while Mercer (570) and Jacksonville (573) round out the top five.
Beale's 69 came on the heels of a 70 in the opening round and has him positioned in a tie for eighth overall. Freshman Trey Rule and junior Thomas Holmes are both tied for 16th overall with tournament scores of 142. Rule shot 72 on Saturday while Thomas fired a 74.
Sophomore Hans Reimers and junior John Gregory Joseph both booked 74's on Saturday. Reimers' 74 came in conjunction with Friday's 73 and has him in 47th place. Joseph's second-straight 74 has him tied for 48th overall.
The final round of the Seminole Intercollegiate is set to tee off Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
