Stetson Sweeps Mercer Volleyball

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore Molly Locke booked a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 (27-25, 25-19, 25-14) loss to Stetson at Hawkins Arena on Saturday. Mercer fell to 1-22 (0-13 A-Sun) while Stetson moved to 16-11 (7-5 A-Sun).
Locke hit .364, reaching her 10 kill total on 22 attempts with only three errors. Emily Rochefort added 10 digs and two assists in the loss.
After enduring a five set battle with Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Mercer couldn't bounce back on Saturday afternoon. In the first set, Mercer trailed 21-14 before ripping off 10-straight points to gain a three set-point opportunities. The Bears failed to capitalize, however, as Stetson scored three consecutive points and ultimately won 27-25.
Stetson led wire-to-wire in the second set and the final frame featured three tie scores and three changes before the Hatters secured the win.
Mercer returns to action hosting Northern Kentucky on November 1. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
