
Women's Tennis Picks Up 4-3 Win Over Alabama State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Mercer women's tennis team picked up a 4-3 victory over Alabama State on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears moved to 2-5 on the season and have now won two consecutive matches.
Mercer went up 2-0 before Alabama State picked up a win after Marine Cartier defeated Grace Korta (6-2, 6-4) and cut the Bears lead to 2-1.
Liza Klyachkin and Xandra Fougner finished their matches back-to-back to seal the victory for Mercer. Alabama State then won the final two matches.
Haley Powell suffered an injury and was unable to finish her match, forcing her to forfeit in the second set.
Next up, Mercer will host Fort Valley State on Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m.
