Women's Tennis Falls to Wofford, 4-3

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team fell to Wofford 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
Mercer won the doubles point with a pair of 8-5 wins at the number one and number three spots. Wofford won the first doubles match, but the Bears rallied to win the remaining two and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Wofford won the first three singles points to take a 3-1 lead, before Xandra Fougner defeated Catherine Martin (6-3, 6-3) to make it 3-2 overall. Grace Korta fell in three sets to Audrey Coventry at the number two spot as the Terriers clinched the match. Haley Powell won in three sets to move the final match score to 4-3.
The Bears will be back in action on Thursday, March 19 when they host Lamar at 2:30 p.m. in Macon.
