GREENVILLE, S.C. – The eighth-seeded Mercer women's tennis team fell to No. 1 Samford, 4-0, in the Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday afternoon in Greenville, S.C. The Bears finished the season with a 4-18 record.
"Today the team fought hard again but ran into a tough Samford team," said Head Coach Eric Hayes. "It was a tough year for us on paper, but it will serve as a reference point for the future teams here at Mercer. It is our job to not be in this position ever again. The players never quit this year."
