
Women's Soccer Ties Tennessee Tech in Scoreless Bout

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer University women's soccer team registered its first tie of the year, a 0-0 match against Tennessee Tech on Friday night at Bear Field.
TURNING POINT
The stats and the control of the game remained fairly even throughout, with neither team placing a shot on goal in the first half and just two shots on goal in the second half. Mercer did lead with three shots in the first overtime, compared to none from Tennessee Tech, but the Bears were unable to put the game away. The stalemate continued in the second overtime, however this time the Golden Eagles led 4-2 in shots.
WOMAN OF THE MATCH
Maggie Cropp made six saves on the night, including four in the second overtime period. The six saves is the second most of the senior this season.
STAT OF THE GAME
While the shots, saves and shots on goal were fairly even throughout the match, Tennessee Tech did lead in corner kicks, 6-2.
NOTABLES
- Katelyn Dimopoulos led Mercer with three shots, followed by Sydney Brogden and Maddie Clark with two apiece.
- Four Bears played the entire 110 minutes, as Jorden Christensen, Maggie Cropp, Haley McDuffee and Corinne Wooten spent the entirety of the contest on the field.
- It was a very physical game, as a total of seven yellow cards were issued, including one to each bench.

Mercer moves to 1-3-1 on the season, while Tennessee Tech is now 1-3-1.
