
Women's Tennis Grabs 6-1 Win Over Evansville

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer University women's tennis picked up its fifth win in six matches with a solid 6-1 victory over Evansville on Thursday afternoon.
Mercer won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Roxy Bartz won by default at flight six, giving the Bears a 2-0 advantage as doubles play began.
Liza Klyachkin and Katia Stravroulaki won their matches in straight sets to seal the victory for the Bears. Xandra Fougner notched a win at flight two to increase Mercer's lead to 5-0 before Evansville won at flight four, registering the Purple Aces' only point of the match. Grace Korta won at flight three to wrap up the match and move the final score to 6-1 for Mercer.
Next up, Mercer will host ETSU on Saturday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. in the first match of the Southern Conference season for the Bears.
