
Women's Tennis Picks Up Win Over Kennesaw State

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Mercer University women's tennis steamed past Kennesaw State for a 6-1 win on Wednesday afternoon.
Mercer took a 1-0 lead in the match after sweeping all three doubles matches and winning the doubles point.
Katia Stravroulaki won her singles match at flight one (6-1, 6-2) and Roxy Barts followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win at flight six to increase Mercer's lead to 3-0.
Xandra Fougner clinched the match for the Bears with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot. Katie Sidor and Grace Korta each won their singles sets to move the score to 6-0 before Kennesaw State won its sole point of the day at flight five.
Next up, Mercer will host Stetson on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. The match time was moved up from its originally scheduled time on Thursday afternoon.
