
Women's Golf Climbs Seven Spots on Second Day of Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. – After firing a 5-over-par 293 – the fifth best team score of the day – Mercer's women's golf team moved up seven spots to place tied for 12th entering the final round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville Saturday.
Credit a superb round by Hannah Mae Deems as the spark that ignited the Bears. A junior from Taylorsville, Georgia, Deems carded a 3-under-par 69 in Saturday's round. She sits tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard at 1-over-par (145) overall entering the final round.
The Bears now sit tied for 12th with ETSU and only 11 strokes back of ninth-place Maryland as Mercer looks to continue to move up towards a top 10 finish.

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
Mercer jumped seven spots on the team leaderboard Saturday as the Bears moved from 19th to tied for 12th alongside ETSU. MU is nine strokes behind 10th place Daytona State and 11 strokes behind ninth place Maryland entering the final round. Furman (-9) is tied with Texas atop the team leaderboard. Mercer is tied with ETSU and two strokes ahead of Tulsa while sitting three strokes ahead of UNC Wilmington.
SUNDAY'S PAIRINGS
Mercer will tee off of Hole 1 beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday. The Bears will be paired with Maryland, Daytona State and Kennesaw State.
