
Mercer Women Win Amelia Island Collegiate

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. – Make it two wins in a row for Mercer. The Bears women's golf team carded a 2-over-par round and placed three golfers in the top 10 to win the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville University Tuesday afternoon.
The win marked the second in a row for the Bears after closing out the fall season by winning the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship.

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
Champions again! Mercer claimed the team title after finishing the three-round tournament at 9-over-par 873, a three-stroke win over Campbell. The Bears also claimed wins over in-state foes Georgia State (+37) and Georgia Southern (+39) as well as Southern Conference foe Samford (+43).
MERCER ON THE INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Mercer placed three golfers in the top 10 and four in the top 15 in a dominating performance on the course. Hannah Mae Deems recorded another top five finish as she placed fourth with a 1-under-par 215 tournament score while a pair of freshmen tied for 10th. Tiffany Minji Kang, playing in her first collegiate tournament, and Lauren Lightfritz each posted 4-over-par 220 scores. An impressive collegiate debut for Kang as she rebounded from an opening round of 7-over-par to card a 3-under-par score in the final round. Terese Romeo rounded finished in the top 15 as she was 6-over-par 222 to tie for 15th.
