Mercer Lands First 16 Signees of #MUvment19 Class

Bears ink 16 student-athletes on first day of early signing period
MACON, Ga. – Preparations for the 2019 football season were in motion on Wednesday as Mercer landed the first 16 signees of its #MUvment19 signing class.

The 16 signees spanned four states, included 10 in-state products from the Peach State, four from the state of Florida and one apiece from Alabama and Ohio. The first batch of the #MUvment19 class is made up of three offensive linemen, three defensive backs, three linebackers, two running backs, one defensive lineman, one quarterback, one wide receiver, one tight end and one long snapper.

"I'd like to commend our coaching staff and support staff for identifying young men and their families that are a great fit for Mercer Football," said head coach Bobby Lamb. "The young men we've signed to our program have a combined grade point average of 3.5, which is the highest [average] that we've ever had for an incoming class.

"We're ready to get some of these Bears enrolled early for the upcoming spring semester as we shift our focus to the fall of 2019. Our staff is thrilled to have these young men joining our program and we believe they are difference makers."
