Mercer Inks Mick Moody to 2018 Signing Class

MACON, Ga. – Mercer head coach Craig Gibson announced outfielder Mick Moody as an addition to his baseball program's 2018 signing class Wednesday afternoon.

With Moody's signing, Mercer now has 17 future student-athletes set to join the program this fall. All 17 hail from the state of Georgia, extending Mercer's strong recruiting ties in the Peach State. He is the third outfielder to join the class.

A four-year letterwinner at Jackson High School (Jackson, Ga.), Moody played infield and outfield and helped lead the Red Devils to a 26-5 overall record in his senior season. He was selected to the GHSA AAA All-State Team and earned All-Region 4-AAA First Team honors in 2018. Moody was named a Georgia Dugout Club Top 100 player and was a member of the Georgia Dugout Club's All-Star Team. He played summer ball for Hardknox Baseball.

"We're really excited about the opportunity to have such a dynamic player in Mick join our program for the next four years," Gibson said. "Mick plays with high energy and a lot of enthusiasm…he'll be a force to reckon with for the Bears in the Southern Conference."
