Men's Cross Country Has Best Finish of Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –The Mercer men's cross-country team finished ninth of 21 teams, best of the season, at the Blazer Classic Meet in Birmingham, Ala.

Mercer's men placed 9th of 21 team's at the Blazer Classic Invitaional 8k race, held at the Alabama Traffic Safety Center in Birmingham, Ala. The men finished with a total time of 2:09:58, outrunning in-state foe Kennesaw State. Seven of the ten Mercer men ran their best time in their collegiate career. The race was the men's first time averaging under 26 minutes in over seven years, they averaged a 25:59 time. Vladamir Zander-Velloso ran the fifth fastest time for Mercer.
 The women ran their first 6k of the season. They finished with a total time of 1:57:40.Ashley McMahon ran Mercer's third fastest performance time in the 6k.Â
