Bears shot 22-over-par 310 in opening round in Arizona
MESA, Ariz. – The Mercer women's golf team shot a first-round 310 (+22) on Friday and is in eighth place at the Notre Dame-hosted Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club.

Mercer is seven shots outside of the top five in a competitive field that includes multiple Power Five conference programs. The Bears own a nine-shot lead on ninth-place Wisconsin.

Karina Kukkonen, Laila Hrindova (individual) and Payton Schanen are all inside the top 30 through 18 holes played in Mesa. Kukkonen shot a four-over-par 76 to lead the Bears and is tied for 22nd.
