Mercer Women in Second Place at UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mercer is in second place at the UNF Collegiate after shooting even-par 287-289 over the first 36 holes of play at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club on Monday.

Four Bears rank inside the top 25 individually after the first two rounds of play, including Karina Kukkonen, who shot 69-72 (-3) and owns sole possession of fifth place.

Mercer on Team Leaderboard
The Bears sit seven shots off tournament leader Delaware (-7) entering Tuesday's final round. Mercer is closely following by host UNF (+1) but owns an eight-shot lead on fourth-place Eastern Kentucky (+8) with 18 holes to play. After shooting a 1-under-par 287 in the first round, Mercer climbed one spot into second place with its second-round 289.

Mercer on Individual Scoreboard
Senior Karina Kukkonen's first-round 69 was the low score shot by the Bears on Monday and paved the way to her fifth place individual standing. Kukkonen birdied five holes, including par-five No. 1, her the final hole of her first round.

Two shots behind Kukkonen is Lauren Lightfritz, who shot 73-70 to earn a tie for ninth place. Four of Mercer's five players are tied for 23rd or better.

Tuesday's Tee Times & Pairings
All five of Mercer's golfers will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on holes No. 1-3 and will be paired with North Florida and Delaware.
