Ball, Schorr Named 2018-19 All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – Mercer men's golfers Spencer Ball and Stanton Schorr were named 2018-19 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA on Wednesday.

Ball, a rising senior, and Schorr, a recent graduate, were among 269 NCAA Division I men's golfers to earn the honor for the 2018-19 academic year. Mercer was one of two Southern Conference schools to have multiple selections to the All-America scholar team, joining ETSU (2).

The announcement marks the third consecutive year that Mercer has had at least one men's golfer named an All-America scholar by the GCAA. Mercer had three players recognized for 2017-18 – including Schorr – and one for the 2016-17 academic year.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative career grade point average of 3.2.
