Excitement for Bears football has never been higher
MACON, Ga. – The buzz around Mercer football is reaching new heights daily and season ticket sales for the upcoming season are through the roof.
Â
With less than a month remaining until the first game of 2019 at Five Star Stadium – Sept. 14 against Austin Peay – the amount of available season tickets available for purchase is dropping daily. Fans interested in purchasing season tickets can click HERE.
"Our goal this year is to give our fans and alumni an atmosphere on gameday that is second-to-none," Athletics Director Jim Cole said. "We're aiming to bring together Macon and Middle Georgia to give them a unique experience at one of the top venues at the FCS level."
Â
Five Star Stadium is one of the premier football venues in the Football Championship Subdivision – it was ranked as the sixth best stadium in the FCS by StadiumJourney.com last fall. Mercer owns a 24-12 record at Five Star since its opening in 2013. More than 360,000 fans have witnessed the Bears playing 36 home games at the stadium over the past six seasons; an average of 10,197 fans per game. Traditions including Mercer's pre-game Bear Walk have been paired with new fan opportunities such as the Ford Concert Series, Macon Beer Company Bear Garden and Toby Town at Mercer's home football games.
Â
This past offseason, a state-of-the-art board was installed in the north end zone to add to the overall atmosphere of the stadium. Measuring at 30 feet tall and 72 feet wide, the board is the largest in the Southern Conference and ranks among the biggest in all of the FCS.
