
Reimers, Rule Garner ASUN All-Decade Team Accolades

Hans Reimers and Trey Rule combined for four All-ASUN selections and led Mercer to its first conference title in 2014
ATLANTA – Former Mercer men's golfers Hans Reimers and Trey Rule were named to the ASUN Conference All-Decade team on Monday afternoon, the league office announced.
To be named to the All-Decade Team an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections or multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team;Â Player/Freshman/Scholar-Athlete of the Year/Championship Medalist, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections or three top-10 at ASUN Championship. Â
Fans can vote for the #ASUNGolf Men's Player of the Decade. The deadline to vote is Tuesday, July 28th at 1 PM ET so make sure to get your votes in. To vote just "Like" the photo that you think deserves the award.
Reimers played for Mercer from 2011-14 after transferring from Portland prior to the 2011 Spring season. The Albany, Ore., native quickly became one of Mercer's top competitors on the course and wracked up 12 top-10 finishes over his career. He placed in the top-5 on seven occasions, including tying for the individual title at the Brickyard Collegiate Golf Championship as a senior. Throughout his career, Reimers played 113 rounds over 39 events for Mercer with an average score of 73.63.
The two-time First Team All-ASUN selection posted a pair of top-10 finishes at the conference tournament, finishing tied for second in 2011 and tied for ninth in 2013. In addition to his individual success at the ASUN Championships, Reimers contributed to Mercer claiming its first ASUN title in 2014. He added two appearances at NCAA Regionals to his postseason resume, placing tied for 27th in Tallahassee, Fla., in 2013 and tied for 29th in Raleigh, N.C., in 2014. Reimers shot a 214 and 217, respectively, at the national tournament.
Rule was a dominant player for Mercer from 2011-15, earning 13 top-10 finishes throughout his career. He earned two All-ASUN honors being named to the second team in 2013 and the first team in 2014. The Eatonton, Ga., native collected ASUN Golfer of the Year honors after winning the 2014 conference tournament with a 215 and leading the Bears to their first ASUN crown. He averaged a career-best 71.25 per round throughout his junior campaign, playing 36 rounds at 12 events.
Rule also played in three NCAA Regional tournaments with the Bears, including a ninth-place finish at the Raleigh regional in 2014. He carded a consistent 212 in the tournament after shooting 71-71-70. Rule also competed at the Tallahassee regional in 2013 where he shot a 225 and the Chapel Hill regional in 2015 where he shot a 224.
