Lance Wise Named SoCon Defensive Player Of The Month

MACON, Ga. – After an October packed full of impressive play, Lance Wise has been named SoCon Defensive Player of the month.

Wise accumulated 37 tackles during the month with 23 of those being solo tackles. He intercepted two passes and took one back 34 yards for a touchdown against The Citadel and returned the other 56 yards to the one-yard line against Western Carolina. The Bears sophomore also forced a fumble and had a tackle for loss during the month.

The Marietta, Georgia native has been named SoCon defensive player of the week twice during the month of October, earning the honor in the Bears win over Western Carolina on October 9 and The Citadel on October 30.

On the season, Wise is third on team in tackles this season with 44, including 27 solo tackles which leads the team.

Wise and the rest of the Bears will be back in action on Saturday, November 13 at Five Star Stadium against Chattanooga. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
