Taylor Lobus Named SoCon Pitcher of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Mercer pitcher Taylor Lobus has been named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the Southern Conference announced on Monday. This is the first time Lobus has earned this honor.

Lobus had a career-high 11 strikeouts during the Bears' opening weekend, allowing just four hits in 7 innings of work in a 10-0 win over Jackson State on Saturday. The redshirt senior's performance on the mound helped lead the Bears to their second win of the season and the seventh of his career. Through the first weekend of collegiate baseball, Lobus stands as the SoCon leader in strikeouts and is tied with a 0.00 ERA.

The Bears play their first road contest of the season on Wednesday when the squad travels to Atlanta for a 1 p.m. game against Georgia Tech. The game will air on the ACC Network.
