Lino Galdin carded his second 2-under par 70 in as many days

GREENSBORO, Ga. – Senior Lino Galdin of the Mercer men's golf team jumped into the top-5 after the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational at Reynolds Lake Oconee – Great Waters on Saturday.

Galdin posted his second 2-under par 70 in as many days after a phenomenal back-9. The Nemsy, France, native had one of the best finishes of the tournament as he birdied each of the final four holes and five of the last six. Fellow senior Tyler Copp rebounded in a big way on the second day of competition, shooting an even-par 72 in round two.

As a team, the Bears moved up two spots on the leaderboard and currently sits ninth heading into the final day. Mercer is within six strokes of moving into the top-5 as a team.

COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"We definitely had a better team performance today. We're not quite there yet, but it was a better round today. Lino had another great performance today, especially coming down the stretch when he made four straight birdies to end his round which really helped the team score at the end. Tyler had a nice bounce back performance today by shooting even par, and Martin and Ethan are close to having a good round as well. They fought hard through the last hole, so that's all you can ask for. We had a much better day and are looking to improve on that leaderboard tomorrow. The guys are playing hard, and they're doing what they need to be doing. We're confident we can continue that trend into tomorrow for the final round."

Mercer closes out the Linger Longer Invitational on Sunday as play for the final round is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. The Bears' five scoring players will tee off between 8:30 a.m. and 9:06 a.m. on the first tee box, while Jay Spivey will begin the round at 8:35 a.m.
