Lightfritz Earns Top-10 Finish at Pinetree Women’s Collegiate

Lauren Lightfritz earned her second top-10 finish of the season

KENNESAW, Ga. – Graduate student Lauren Lightfritz of the Mercer women's golf team finished inside the top-10 at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate on Tuesday from the Pinetree Country Club.

Lightfritz finished tied for eighth with a 3-over-par 219 (76-67-76) to lead the Bears to a fifth-place finish at the tournament. This was Lightfritz's second time earning a top-10 finish this season after she took home runner-up honors at the Mercer Invitational on Nov. 9-10.

Mercer saw three of its golfers finish inside the top-15 of a tough field with Payton Schanen (+6) finishing tied for 13th and freshman Eujin Pyon (+8) posting her best finish of the season by tying for 15th. Pyon was Mercer's most consistent golfer of the tournament as the only member of the team to card a 75 or better in all three rounds.

Up Next
The Bears will close out their regular season by hosting the Brickyard Collegiate on April 5-6 at the Brickyard Golf Club in Macon. The two-day event will have the team's play 36 holes on the 5th and 18 on the 6th.
