Bears will host 13-team tournament at Reynolds Lake Oconee National Course on Monday and Tuesday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's golf team will host the National Intercollegiate at Reynolds Lake Oconee National Course on Monday and Tuesday.

The 13-team tournament will feature five ranked individuals in #100 Nick Wolf (UT Martin), #172 Maximo Portais (Jacksonville State), #181 Tate Chumley (UT Martin), #190 Quim Vidal Mora (Jacksonville State) and #247 Jesus Montenegro (Jacksonville State).

Mercer's five golfers who will be able to count toward the team score will tee off from the first three holes at 8:30 a.m. alongside Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State in the shotgun start format. Spivey, Miller and Kim, the Bears' three individual competitors, will start play at the 15th tee box.

COACH'S TAKE
"The team is looking forward to playing National this week as we know the course well. The key this week will be our approach shots as it will be very important to be on the correct quadrant of the green. The greens have a lot of undulation at the National, and being aware of where of where the pin is in relation to the slope is significant. The guys have been hitting the ball well this week, and I'm confident they will play at a high level this week. I appreciate all the teams coming this week as there are a lot of choices of which tournaments to play in each season. We are looking forward to hosting our first annual event at The National."
