Michael Campbell Named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week

Campbell had two interceptions including a pick-six
MACON, Ga. – Cornerback Michael Campbell was named Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for his performance against ETSU.
Campbell had two tackles and two interceptions in Mercer's 55-33 win over ETSU. One of Campbell's interceptions was a 41-yard pick-six with less than two minutes remaining to that seal the win for the Bears.
With Campbell being named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week, that makes it back-to-back Mercer defensive players to earn the recognition after linebacker Isaac Dowling was Defensive Player of the Week in the conference last week.
Campbell and the Mercer defense lead all the FCS in total interceptions with 15.
UP NEXT:
This week, Mercer travels to No. 8Â Chattanooga for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff. Both teams enter the game undefeated in conference play.
