Improve 18 Shots In Second Round
Charleston, S.C. –Through two rounds of the Daniel Island Intercollegiate men's golf tournament it might be fair to say the leader is the Ralston Creek golf Course, which seems to be getting the better of everyone.
Florida Gulf Coast leads the team tournament but is +11 after two days on the par-72 course. Mercer is in 11th place after Monday's play, as the Bears are +32. But Mercer improved by 18 shots on Tuesday, and is only eight shots behind fourth place.
"The course is still set up real tough," coach Jason Payne said. "It was a good round. The guys grinded it out today. The team has a lot to play for in the final round."
For the second straight day, Jonathan Parker led the Bears, with an even par 72. His 4-over for the tournament has him in a tie for 10th. Place. Gustav Sjoberg bounced back from a 12-over day on Sunday to even par on Monday. But still at +12 for the tourney he is tied for 62nd. Tobias Jonsson and Trey Mixon are in a group of players tied for 34th place with +8. Rece Moore is tied for 92nd at +20.
