Darkness Suspends Second Round
Macon, Ga—Mercer's women's golf team is almost two thirds of the way to defending its title in the Mercer Invitational taking place at the Brickyard Golf Club.
Darkness forced a halt to play with most groups having two holes to play in the second round. That will be concluded Tuesday, then the final round will follow immediately.
Mercer has a 14-shot lead over Seminole State. The Bears are one over par, Seminole State is +13.
Mikayla Dubnik, leads the Bears, and the entire tournament field having shot a two-under par 70 for the first round and also two-under through her second round. Dubnik's -4 has her sitting three shots ahead of Rim Imni of Seminole State.
Sitting at even par and tied for third is Mercer's Kate Song. Camilla Järvelä is tied for 8th at +2, Carol Pyon is just one shot behind that at +3, tied for 13th, and Tracy Rodriguez rounds out the Mercer brigade, tied for 29th in the 91-player field at +7.
The Bears' Hailey Katona is also competing in the tournament, as an individual, so her score does not count in the Mercer team total. She's also in the top half of the field, tied for 38th at +8
Tee time for the resumption of the second round is 9 a.m. to be followed immediately by the third round. Live scoring updates are available at GolfStats.com. https://bit.ly/3DLJTjB
