Ty James and Isaac Dowling Named Hero Sports Sophomore All-Americans

MACON, Ga. – Sophomores Ty James and Isaac Dowling were named to the HERO Sports FCS Sophomore All-American Team.

James was one of six FCS sophomore wide receivers and Dowling one of nine FCS sophomore linebackers to be named an FCS Sophomore All-American by HERO Sports.

James was named First Team All-Conference by the coaches.
Finished the season with 52 receptions for 1,105 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Led the SoCon in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and yards per catch.
His 1,105 receiving yards set a Mercer school record.
In the last game of the season, James had a record-breaking day recording 13 receptions for 351 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
His 351 receiving yards were the most by any FCS player during the regular season and also set the SoCon single game receiving yards record.

Isaac Dowling | So. | LB | Snellville, Ga. | Shiloh HS

Dowling was named First Team All-Conference by the media.
2022 team captain.
Recorded a team-high 99 tackles, ranking second in the SoCon.
Had nine tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Finished with 10 or more tackles in four games.
Tied a career-high with 17 tackles against The Citadel.
