
Baseball Trio Named All-Region

Kelley, Knight and Price honored by ABCA and Rawlings
MACON, Ga. – A trio of Bears – Jackson Kelley, Bill Knight and Collin Price - were selected to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I Southeast All-Region Team, as announced Wednesday by the organizations.
With 25 appearances in relief, Kelley tallied a 7-0 record with six saves and a 1.35 ERA – a mark that led the Southern Conference and ranked second in the nation. During the season, he was selected as the league's Pitcher of the Month in April and the Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 1. Following the regular season, he collected First Team honors from the coaches and Second Team from the league's media.
In the SoCon Tournament, he fanned seven in 7.1 shutout frames in relief to secure a win over The Citadel.
Additionally, the Marietta, Georgia, native is a finalist for the NCBWA's Top Stopper Award, which will be awarded on June 17.
Knight was one of Mercer's most consistent batters in 2022, leading in average (.337), hits (82), doubles (19) and runs batted in (64). In an early April tilt with The Citadel, the Perkins, Georgia, native drove in a season-high six runs to help push the Bears to an 11-5 win. He tallied a 2022-best five putouts in the penultimate home game, a 4-1 win over VMI.
The outfielder was a unanimous pick to the league's First Team by coaches and media following his season. He led the league in runs batted in and his 82 hits were third.
Price, a catcher and outfielder, was a top contributor to the Mercer offense in 2022. He led the team in homers (18) – a SoCon-best, was second in runs scored (53) and third in average (.315). His .450 on base percentage placed him fourth in the SoCon and his .626 slugging percentage ranked seventh in the league. The Suwanee, Georgia, product took 52 walks, a mark that also led the conference.
In the home finale, he drove in a season-high five runs in an 8-7, 13-inning win over VMI. He was selected to the league's Second Team by the coaches and media.
