Harper Adds Another School Record To His Stable

MACON – Senior Devron Harper continued to rack up on the program superlatives on Saturday against then-No. 20 Chattanooga when he notched his 10^th school record by becoming Mercer's all-time punt return yards leader.

Harper, who became the program's all-time leader in all-purpose yards earlier this season against Morehead State, returned four punts for 28 yards against the nationally-ranked Mocs, but it was 10-yard return late in the opening period that moved him past former Bears standout Chandler Curtis (2014-17) atop the program's all-time list.

A product of Conyers, Ga., and Heritage High School, Harper has played in 28 career games for the Orange & Black while racking up 3,781 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns. That total includes 1,757 yards through the air (133 receptions), as well as 358 rushing yards (41 attempts). He has also amassed 1,666 combined kick return yards on 65 attempts, including 21 punt returns for 544 yards and 44 kickoff returns for 1,122 yards.

Heading into the weekend, Harper currently owns or shares 13 program single-game, single season or career records, while ranking second in four other career statistical categories as well.
