Bears play nine home games at Five Star Stadium
MACON, Ga. - Entering the ninth season under head coach Samantha Eustace, the Mercer women's lacrosse team announced its 2024 schedule.
The defending back-to-back Big South champions, will play a 17-game regular season slate that includes nine home games at Five Star Stadium. In non-conference action, the Bears will play five Power 5 programs in Virginia Tech, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Notre Dame. Three of those games - Virginia Tech, Florida, and Notre Dame - will be rematches from the 2023 season.
The eight-game Big South Conference slate begins March 27 when Mercer welcomes Presbyterian to Five Star Stadium.
Mercer opens its 2024 season on Feb. 18 at home versus Virginia Tech. The two teams met last season in Blacksburg in the season opener. The Bears won 11-8, earning their first ever win over an ACC school in program history.
The Bears will then hit the road to play at Davidson on Feb. 24 and at Kennesaw State on Feb. 28.Â
Mercer begins March by welcoming another ACC team to Macon in the Clemson Tigers on March 5. Coastal Carolina then comes to Macon on March 9.
The Bears will then play three Power 5 schools in a row in the middle of March beginning with a trip to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Vanderbilt on March 13. That is followed by a trip down to Florida to play the Gators on March 16.Â
Mercer caps off the tough three-game stretch by welcoming Notre Dame to Macon on March 24 in a rematch of the 2023 NCAA Tournament First Round game.
Following the game against the Irish, Mercer jumps right into conference play on March 27 against Presbyterian at home. The first away conference game is March 30 at High Point.
Mercer will play three consecutive games in the middle of April before closing out the regular season with two games on the road at Wofford (April 24) and at Radford (April 27).
Game times will be announced at a later date.
