MACON, Ga. – The Mercer baseball program dropped the second game of Opening Weekend against William & Mary, 6-2. The Bears' record drops to 1-1 this season heading into the final game of the series on Sunday.

Mercer was the first on the scoreboard when Treyson Hughes made it across the plate on a throwing error down the third base line in the bottom of the third inning. William & Mary answered immediately with two runs to take the lead in the top of the fourth.

Ryan Lobus started on the mound, striking out five batters and letting up five hits and two runs over four innings. Garrett Sloan came in for Lobus in the fifth inning and only let up one hit and no runs for two innings before Colton Cosper came in to close out the game. Cosper pitched for three innings, letting up six hits and four runs while striking out two batters.

Offensively, Jozsef Rohrbacher hit another homerun over the right field wall and scored the only other run for the Bears.
