Bears hold six shot lead going into final round Tuesday
MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's golf team holds a six shot lead after 36 holes at the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Georgia.
The Bears shot a team score of 299 (+11) for both the first and second rounds for a total score of 22-over par 598 after the first day. In second place behind Mercer is Incarnate Word who has a team score of 604 (+28).
On the individual leaderboard, all five Mercer golfers sit withing the top 11 through 36 holes.
Carol Pyon is in second place after shooting a first round of 73 (+1) and a second round of 75 (+3) for a 36-hole total of 4-over (148). Kate Song is right behind Pyon in third place after a first round of 75 (+4) and second round of 74 (+2) for a 36-hole score of 5-over 149.
After the first day, Mercer leads the field in Par 3s, Par 4s, and Par 5s. The Bears lead the field with 22 birdies.
Camilla Järvellä had the only eagle on the day with a two on the par 4 16th.
Carol Pyon leads the field on par 4s at +2 over through 36 holes on the par 4s. Mikayla Dubnik and Kate Song lead the field on par 5s through 36 holes at 2-under.
