Bears Tied For Third After First Round At SoCon Championship

Mikayla Dubnik tied for sixth on individual leaderboard

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Mercer women's golf team finished the first round of the SoCon Championship tied for third with ETSU on Sunday from Moss Creek Golf Club.

As a team the Bears shot 307 (+19), with Mikayla Dubnik shooting the lowest score for Mercer with a 74 (+2). Dubnik is tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard with Furman's Anna Morgan the current leader through the first 18 holes at 2-under 70.

Mercer is tied for third with ETSU. Defending champion Furman is the current leader as it shot 297 (+9). Western Carolina is in second with a team score of 301 (+13).

Dubnik finished the back nine with a 1-under 35. Dubnik and Kate Song had three birdies in their round, tied for the second most among the 45 golfers in the field.
