Senior hit four home runs with 12 RBI last week
MACON, Ga. – Jozsef Rohrbacher was named a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week April 24-30. The Collegiate Baseball newspaper selects a handful of players who had breakout performances during the week.
Rohrbacher hit three home runs on Sunday against UNCG as the first player to do so in the Southern Conference this season and the first Mercer player to record that mark since 2019. His three blasts also earned eight RBI on the day, leading the Bears to a 14-9 victory.
Three home runs, eight RBI, and three runs are all single-game career highs for Rohrbacher. Three hits tied a season high for the senior.
On the week, Rohrbacher went 8-for-15 (.533) with 12 RBI and six runs. Four of his eight hits were home runs. In the Bears' setback to Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Rohrbacher led the team, going 3-for-4 (.750).
Rohrbacher is the second Mercer player to earn Collegiate Baseball national honors this season, and the Bears have now earned it in consecutive weeks after Carter Sanford was named to the list last week.
Mercer returns to action this weekend on the road against Florida State beginning on Friday, May 5 at 6 p.m. All three games this weekend will be available for viewing on ACC Network Extra.
