Tobias Jonsson Named To All-Confernce Team

SPARTANBURG, S.c.- Mercer men's golf senior Tobias Jonsson has been named to the All-Conference Team the Southern Conference announced on Tuesday.
"A great recognition for Tobias having another great year," said coach Payne. "Four individual wins is quite a feat. Looking forward to watch his postseason run."
Jonsson, who finished the SoCon Tournament Championship in tied for seventh, had a stroke average of 70.66 in 35 rounds this season. The third lowest stroke average among all SoCon golfers this season.
Jonsson has had four first place finishes during the 2022-2023 season. He was named SoCon player of the week after 6-under par at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, SC March 6-7. Jonsson carded rounds of 69-65-70 on the par-70 course to clutch a first place finish.
During the month of March, Tobias was named to the top 10 in the European Golf Amateur ranking. He also got the individual medal at the World Amateur Team Championship held in Paris this past September and was the first Bear since Trey Rule (2015) to make it to the NCAA Tournament last year.
