MACON – Officials from Macon-based Fall Line Brewing Co. announced Thursday morning that it will debut a limited run of Ol' Toby Easy Ale – the official beer of Mercer Athletics – on Saturday at Five Star Stadium. The 20th-ranked Mercer football team is scheduled to make its 2023 debut in its home stadium against Morehead State with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
Â
Fall Line Brewing Co., a longtime supporter of Mercer Athletics, made the announcement in collaboration with the Mercer Athletic Foundation which will benefit with the sale of every can of the brewery's newest ale. Ten cents of every sale will be donated in support of the MAF's Champions Fund Endowment which covers championship-related expenses of the department's 18 varsity athletic teams.
Â
"I am proud to be a Bear supporting other Bears," said owner and Mercer alum Kaitlynn Kressin. "To be able to partner with Mercer on a co-branded beer has been a goal since launching Fall Line Brewing Co., and I am looking forward to our fanbase enjoying the product."
Â
The initial run of 125 cases will be sold at Mercer's home opener against Morehead State on Saturday, as well as at Fall Line Brewing Co., which is located at 567 Plum Street in Macon, beginning on Friday. Mercer Athletic Foundation staff will also be selling Ol' Toby Packages - complete with t-shirts, stickers and sample cans - for $50 while supplies last at Five Star Stadium on Saturday.
Â
Mercer supporters can find the MAF staff on game day, or email maf@mercer.edu for more details.
Â
"Kaitlynn and Nate are loyal friends of Mercer Athletics and were wonderful to work with throughout this process," said Mercer Deputy Athletics Director and Executive Director of the MAF Brian Gerrity. "I am thrilled about the end result, and I think our alums, fans and friends will enjoy Ol' Toby."
