Baseball Finishes Season Series With Georgia Tech On Tuesday

MACON – Mercer (25-25, 5-12 SoCon) will travel to Georgia Tech (30-19, 14-13 ACC) for the final road game of the regular season. First pitch is at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+/ACCNX.
When the two teams met in Macon earlier this season, the Yellow Jackets walked away with a 9-5 win. The Bears seek their first win in Atlanta since 2018.

| Mercer got swept in its conference series over the weekend at Western Carolina. The bright spot of the trip was a robbed home run by Jackson Cherry that was the #5 play on SportsCenter Top 10 the next day. The Bears lost that first game 12-3 and similarly lost Saturday's game 10-3. Sunday's game started out the complete opposite with Parker Lester hitting a home run in his first at bat and the team leading 10-1 in the fourth inning. MU gave up six runs on the way to a tie in the fifth when WCU hit a walk-off home run in the ninth to send the Bears home. Every Mercer pitcher that appeared in the game was accountable for at least one run. Ty Dalley and Jackson Cherry both recorded three RBI in the game. |

| Georgia Tech has a 22-9 record at home this season and just won two-out-of-three against No. 9 ranked Duke at Mac Nease Baseball Park over the weekend. The team also defeated No. 4 Clemson on the road the previous week. The Yellow Jackets defeated Kennesaw State three times this season. Mercer won the series with KSU 2-1, with the last game of the series last week on May 7. Drew Burress leads the team at the plate and ranks eighth in the ACC, batting .376. He is also tied for second in the league in home runs with 21 and has a whopping .812 slugging percentage, which is also second in the league. |
