Mercer Football, Basketball Returns To Airwaves This Season

MACON – Athletics department officials from Mercer University announced Wednesday that the Bears have renewed their partnership with Macon-based Creek Media LLC and Houston County-based SportsMic for the radio broadcasts of all Mercer football and men's basketball games, plus select women's basketball games, during the 2024-25 season.

Mercer's athletic events will continue to be aired live on 100.9 The Creek FM, as well as SportsMic, the free downloadable app for smart phones and tablets that allows access to game broadcasts from any location. Audio links to each specific event's broadcast can be found on respective sports' schedule pages on MercerBears.com.

The Mike Jacobs Coach's Show will continue to be aired on a weekly basis (Thursday) during football season as well. The first Coach's Show at Wild Wing Café in north Macon is scheduled for September 5.

The Mercer Sports Network is fronted by the "Voice of the Bears" Rick Cameron who will embark on his 21st year of calling radio play-by-play for Mercer in 2024-25, and will call his 1,000th Mercer athletic contest over the course of this athletic season as well. Cameron will be joined on football broadcasts again by Billy Andrews (color analyst) and Charles Davis (sideline reporter). Greg Elrod will return as host of the pregame show as well.
